  2. Hi cookie. A few weeks ago I set up the M2 mini to listen to others’ songs here on the new Apple system. The Headphones bought for recording are pretty awesome to listen in to others’s songwriting on the internet. So, have heard one of your songs from my email download with the added ‘wow factor’ of your unique sound. I have been really busy outside of music over the last ten days or so, and time to read and listen about blogs and music has been sparse.

It will be so nice to get back into this lovely experience of relaxed listening to your music from this Friday. Tomorrow I am collecting my new (secondhand) guitar, hence Friday. I’ve bought a Hohner Les Paul L75 Professional in walnut. A 1990 model. Picking it up tomorrow. So will begin to adopt the ‘crunch’ sound that you have been using on your fabulous new songs. Will also get serious in finding a Bandcamp file to house downloads into…….well, fingers crossed. Technophobe is my middle name! Good to hear this song again. Only on the iPad again this time though. All the best cookie.

    1. a Les Paul, holy moly. I can’t wait to hear what you do with it. thank you for listening to me in a whole new way. I have noticed this as well, where the platform someone listens on and the device they listen through makes such a difference in what comes through. I worry about not coming through the way I intended, even though I know I can’t really do anything about what people are listening on.

      1. It’s just that I happened upon a really insightful YouTube video talking of how to send finished songs out there so I could get it right. But, as you say, technology now is pretty much infinite. Whatever device or speakers that people listen to their fave songs on cannot be truly a default scenario anymore, whatsoever. So I just think we produce what we do and send it out there. With fingers crossed.

I did look into the Hohner L75 version of the Les Paul before I messaged to buy it, and it has some great reviews on YouTube. Also rich TRex/Marc Bolan gritty sound alongside Jazz riffing melodic sounds. So eclectic sound wise. I just need to play some simple rhythm guitar chords to solidify sound dynamics to play bass along to. It’s a beautiful walnut coloured one. Exciting stuff! Cheers cookie.

  3. It seems you remembered the important details of your night with this reflective poem. I enjoyed reading and listening last night but was too tired to write. 😄 Thank you for sharing your voice, cookie.

    1. most of my songs come out that way 🙂 with maybe enough of something there to capture what is or was, and hopefully I leave enough out so someone else can fill in with their own after-prom night 🙃

  4. I love the tune of this song. It’s soothing but the lyrics have so much depth and angst.
    Great song!

    1. prom night was like one of those movies, you know, where everything happens in a single night that stretches into the next day. it was only a few years ago and still I had forgotten everything. until little things started coming back. I’m glad I can remember. x
